Citizen Participation

On this page, we have listed elected officials and government agencies and personnel on national, state and local levels.

"Every Government degenerates when trusted to the rulers of the people alone. The people themselves, therefore, are its only safe depositories." Thomas Jefferson 1789

  • Are you concerned with the degree of government involvement in your life?
  • Do you have thoughts on laws or regulations you’d like to express?
  • Would you like to have your voice heard?
  • Would you like to make a difference?
If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, you should be participating in the processes that create the laws and regulations that impact our rivers, our environment and our lives. You are a constituent – a voter who controls who will represent you in your local, state and federal government. Elected officials want to hear from you, especially if they know and respect you. If you think that it is not worthwhile to express your opinions, remember that those who disagree with you are doing it constantly.

Following are a list, with means of making contact, for most of the state and local governmental bodies and elected officials that have a role in making the decisions that impact our rivers, our environment and our lives. If you wish to express your views on an issue, click on the e-mail address of the person you wish to contact and an addressed form for sending your e-mail will come up. You must insert a "subject" for your e-mail to be processed. While not required, we would appreciate having our e-mail address, info@talbotrivers.org entered for a copy so that we can follow what views are being relayed to our government officials. We ask that your comments pertain to water quality matters, or legislation that would adversely impact the environment, and not relate to any individual personally. Thank you.
